New Search Engine : Yahoo and Facebook Will Team Up Together

The world, it seems, just cannot wait for Facebook to come along and start its own search engine and knock Google off the top of search mountain. The rumors and expectations of this go back for years. Now the latest twist: Yahoo and Facebook will team up together. If you’re banking on that potential alliance taking out Google, much less Bing, let me offer up a reality check. Report: Yahoo & Facebook Talking Search Let’s start with the current news that has various tech blogs lighting up over the possibilities. The Telegraph, citing anonymous sources, reports that Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer and Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg have had talks about working more closely together, in particular on web search. From the report: Sources have told The Sunday Telegraph that Marissa Mayer,...

Google Ranking Factor 2012

Google’s search ranking factors are described as a list. They try to rank the factors by importance. In my eyes this doesn’t make sense. The Google algorithm gets more and more complicated. The main question is not: which signals are ranking-factors. But it is: how are they connected and related. What are “main factors” that are build by addition of a lot of single signals? In my eyes there are only 7 basic factors. All of them are a compilation of “second level” factors and / or build by addition of many single signals. Backlinks Content Authority Trust Reviews Retweets Facebook Shares in some cases: Reviews I think the main concept of Google+ is – up to now – the verification of social-users. This is important to get an idea of...

Google is trying to update PageRank regularly and exactly 3 months after the last update in August, they are updating the number again. The latest update happens earlier today and I have seen some changes on my websites, some have higher PR but some remain at PR2 or PR3. It is really difficult to get PR4 or PR5. Anyways, this is good news that Google is still maintaining PageRank. Now, it is time for you to check your new PageRank here. Link building is still the most effective strategy to increase PageRank. I suggest you...

Prepare your Website: Google Algorithm Change Predictions in 2012

Prepare your Website: Google Algorithm Change Predictions in 2012 In order to predict 2012 Google Algorithm changes we need to first look at 2011. Starting from January 2011, Google started making algorithm updates to help weed out poor quality and duplicated content, scrapers and spammy websites. Some big players such as overstock.com and JC Penney were hit with penalties in January and February respectively. The (content) Attribution Update at the end of January affected 2% of search queries. This gave us a very solid clue on what Google was going to be focusing on in 2011 We’ve always known content is king, even before all the 2011 algorithm updates, Google has always favoured websites with vast amounts of content. When you type a search query into Google, you are not looking for...

United States - Barack Obama Re-elected As President

Barack Obama has been re-elected as President of the United States, and he's taken another prize as well — he can now lay claim to the most popular tweet of all time. The tweet, which simply states "Four more years" alongside a photo of Obama embracing his wife Michelle, has been retweeted over 320,000 times and counting. Buzzfeed points outthat this beat the previous record — said to have been set by Justin Bieber — after just 22 minutes, and the gap has since risen to more than 100,000. Twitter's Government feed has also confirmed that this year's Election Day was the "most tweeted about event in US political history," with over 20 million tweets. The service saw a rate of 327,000 tweets per minute following news of Obama's re-elect...

New Google Update: Penguin 3.0 Link Building Guide

Penguin 3.0 has come and gone and we have a proven link building strategy that has weathered both Penguin 2.0 and Penguin 3.0. We used this strategy on one of the businesses we own outside of our link building and social media businesses here at NextNetMedia.  It is a direct-to-consumer retail product that went from about $12,000 per month to over $88,000 per month in less than 6 weeks using the following link building strategy we are about to discuss. For obvious reasons, we cannot give the product or website in an e-mail due to our competitors and Google but if you want to call us using the number at the bottom of the e-mail, we'll be happy to discuss it with you over the phone. We are now releasing this strategy to you.  Here are the steps we used to go...

Google Drive With Some Of His Co-Workers

We still confused by the Google Drive name because it sounds like it could equally be applied to their driverless cars project. Seeing this just increases that confusion. John Mueller, a Google Webmaster Trends Analysts in Zurich, is working on building a different type of Google Drive with some of his co-workers. This Google Drive actually drives. John posted a picture on Google+ and wrote: We're still working on the "Google Drive" algorithm, but the lights, blinkers, & horn work great so far. The ultrasound park-sensor kept falling off or getting bad readings, so we ended up removing it again. Once we get the GPS wired up, nothing [] will stop us :-). Making things with the Arduino is really fun & easy, I'm surprised that...
